Issue/Introduction

Description:

During the installation of the CA ITCM Domain Manager the following error occurs:

The installation of "Content Import Client" failed.
Return Code: 1603

In %TEMP%\CICSetup.log the following is observed:

and in %TEMP%\CICSetupCmd.log the following lines are seen:

Verifying jre installation.

CICSetupCmd.log stops just after this line "Verifying jre installation."

Solution:

This problem occurs on Windows machine with specific language set (eg: 874 - Windows Thai)

Solution :

  • Copy the file <CAITCM_SOURCE_PATH>\WindowsProductFiles_x86\CIC\jre\lib\ext\charsets.jar to <CAITCM_SOURCE_PATH>\WindowsProductFiles_x86\CIC\jre\lib
  • Retry the installation.
