Issue/Introduction

Every 2 minutes, SYSVIEW is sending a number of these messages.

IXG231I IXGCONN REQUEST=CONNECT TO LOG STREAM NOT.DEFINED DID NOT 606SUCCEED FOR JOB SYSVIEW. RETURN CODE: 00000008 REASON CODE: 0000080BDIAG1: 00000008 DIAG2: 0000F801 DIAG3: 05030004 DIAG4: 05020010

The names of all the unused log streams which are not defined in the INST0040 and INST0046 have been put to 'NONE' in the appropriate parmlib members AUDIT, LGLOOKUP, MSQDATA.

Resolution

Put the correct logstream.name for the LOGSTREAM-PLOTLOG-NAME and the LOGSTREAM-XLOG-NAME in the SYSDATA parmlib member.

The PLOTLOG log stream contains historical plot data records created by the data collectors and is defined in the installation job INST0041.

If the plot data records should not be collected and the PLOTLOG log stream is not defined set the following options in the SYSDATA member:

LOG-PLOT-RECORDS NO
LOGSTREAM-PLOTLOG-NAME NONE

The XLOG log stream contains exception records created by the IMS, MVS, TCP/IP and WebSphere MQ data collectors and is defined in the installation job INST0042.

If the exception records should not be collected and the XLOG log stream is not defined set the following options in the SYSDATA member :

LOG-XLOG-RECORDS NO
LOGSTREAM-XLOG-NAME NONE
