Issue/Introduction

Cisco devices in NCM generate syslog event.

Including any configuration on CISCO devices with NCM, will generate the following syslog event in Spectrum on the device in question:

"cisco syslog %PARSER-4-BADCFG: Unexpected end of configuration file."

Environment

Release: Any
Component: SPCAPP

Cause

The event was generated because the Cisco device has specific syntax rules and is not a problem with SPECTRUM.

Resolution

This can be resolved by adding a terminating character to the config file (such as a newline or the word "end").

For example you can add the word "end" as a terminating character to the config file on the Cisco device that is generating this syslog event.
