Message DSM Service Failed

Using Patch Management, after accepting approx 100 patches, you can see the message "DSM Service Failed" in the System Status portlet.

The related upm.log shows the following error messages:

FATAL ? - java.util.NoSuchElementException: Could not create a validated object
FATAL ? - org.apache.commons.pool.impl.GenericObjectPool.borrowObject(
ERROR ? - Error creating Negative Patch Instance Query
ERROR ? - Error processing Accepted Patch Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 {d0667948-a7c7-4142-8866-a79be0a8a1bb}
FATAL ? - Error processing Accepted Patch Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 {d0667948-a7c7-4142-8866-a79be0a8a1bb}


In the UPM Administration tab->DSM, correct the following items:

  1. Web Service URL - The value of the WAC_URL appearing in file C:\Program Files\CA\DSM\Web Console\webapps\wac\WEB-INF\classes\com\ca\wac\config\ has to be pasted in here.

  2. DSM User name has to be modified to use the following correct format:

  3. The user configured in step 2, should have enough rights in ITCM (see ITCM security profiles).
