Issue/Introduction

Description:

Using Patch Management, after accepting approx 100 patches, you can see the message "DSM Service Failed" in the System Status portlet.

The related upm.log shows the following error messages:

FATAL ?com.ca.unicenter.upm.eventmanager? - java.util.NoSuchElementException: Could not create a validated object
FATAL ?com.ca.unicenter.upm.eventmanager? - org.apache.commons.pool.impl.GenericObjectPool.borrowObject(GenericObjectPool.java:851)
ERROR ?com.ca.unicenter.upm.decision? - Error creating Negative Patch Instance Query
ERROR ?com.ca.unicenter.upm.decision? - Error processing Accepted Patch Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 {d0667948-a7c7-4142-8866-a79be0a8a1bb}

Solution:

In the UPM Administration tab->DSM, correct the following items:

1. Web Service URL - The value of the WAC_URL appearing in file C:\Program Files\CA\DSM\Web Console\webapps\wac\WEB-INF\classes\com\ca\wac\config\wacconfig.properties has to be pasted in here.
   
   
2. DSM User name has to be modified to use the following correct format:
   winnt://<itcm_manager>/<username>
   
   
3. The user configured in step 2, should have enough rights in ITCM (see ITCM security profiles).
