Issue/Introduction

Description:

FIPS is the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) are U.S. government computer security standards that specify requirements for cryptography modules.

Solution:

CA Process Automation (CA PAM) now offers FIPS mode during the installation. With FIPS selected you will be in FIPS compliance.

Starting in CA PAM 3.1 you will be able to tell if you selected FIPS mode when installing CA PAM by opening your <install path>/server/c2o/.config/OasisConfig.properties and finding

isFipsMode=true

If set to "true", your CA PAM is running in FIPS mode. Please note, this setting is only an indicator, changing it to true will not enable FIPS. To configure FIPS in an existing install you must go through a reconfigure and select the FIPS option.
