Rename Top Secret ACID And Keep Cleanup Statistical/Tracking Information Gathered

Issue/Introduction

When renaming a PROFILE or other ACID type in Top Secret via:

   TSS RENAME(xxx) ACID(yyy)  

and refresh the Cleanup database, will the Cleanup tracking/statistical information be lost?

 

Resolution

To retain the information, you need to manually modify the Cleanup tracking database using the following steps:

1. ISPF EDIT the Cleanup tracking database dataset
   
   
2. Issue: X ALL                                                   to exclude all records
   
   
3. Issue: F PROFILE 20 ALL                                to reveal PROFILE and PROFILES recs
   
   
4. Issue: C <oldname> <newname> NX ALL     to change only the revealed recs

When using ISPF EDIT, remember to issue the PRESERVE ON command to avoid losing trailing blanks.
