Issue/Introduction

Description:

Installing the CA DLP iConsole reports from the "Reports.msi" package fails with the following error:

Error installing reports: Unknown error 0x80131509 (-2146233079) (code 0x80131509). Description:''.

If the iConsole is configured with SSL (Secure Socket Layers) and a problem is encountered authenticating the secure session (for example, problems with the signed certificate), the install will fail.

Solution:

While it is essential that the system administrator address the underlying SSL issue, the problem can be worked around by disabling SSL.

To do this, edit the registry key:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\CA DLP\CurrentVersion\Web\WebServiceUseSSL

And change from 1 to 0

In IIS deselect the Use SSL setting and restart the CA DLP website.

Run the "Reports.msi" package and back out the changes once complete.
