Issue/Introduction

Description:

When trying to run a backup of the CA Top Secret security database, an open return code 232 error occurs with the following message:

TSS9147E - VSAMFILE FILE BACKUP FAILED

Solution:

The TSS9147E can occur if the VSAMDEF3 job in the CA Top Secret CAIJCL (CA Top Secret r14) or CAKOJCL0 (CA Top Secret r15) library was run to create the backup VSAM security file extension instead of the VSAMDEF6 job. The difference between VSAMDEF3 and VSAMDEF6 is that VSAMDEF6 has REUSE. To correct this, sites can just allocate a new VSAM backup file (specifying REUSE) and recycle CA Top Secret (temporary shutdown and restart) pointing to the new one.
