Issue/Introduction

Description:

Attachment downloads fail with an error "Download Failed -UPLOADSERVLET.E_FOPEN_FAILED".

This generally happens when the attachments are present on a remote File Server. The files physically exist and can be opened from its physical location. There is no problem with uploading of attachments. The below error is seen in the Service Desk STDLOG: servername rep_daemon 7000 SIGNIFICANT AttmntMng.c 1836 Required UNC logon user is not set, cannot support UNC at this time.

Solution:

This problem occurs when there is no permission to access the repository from the external Service Desk application server(s).

Provide read permissions to the folder where attachments are stored on the file server and the error will no longer occur.
