Issue/Introduction

Description:

On a ITCM Domain Manager running on Windows 2008, the execution of package "UPM - CA UPM Manual Download Function" does nothing.

The SD job is executed successfully but the virtual directory "manual_download" is not created in IIS.

In the output of SD job the following is observed:

Found CA Patch Manager r12.5.0.18 installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\UPM\(11/15/2011 12:22:11 PM): This is the path where logfile is created: C:\Windows\VBSLOG.txt(11/15/2011 12:22:11 PM): Found UPM HOME @ : C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\UPM\(11/15/2011 12:22:11 PM): Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ComputerAssociates\Unicenter Patch Management\Virtual Directory does not exist(11/15/2011 12:22:11 PM): Folder C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\UPM\UPMdownloads does not exist...(11/15/2011 12:22:13 PM): The patch installed successfully...

Solution:

This problem occurs because the IIS Roles "IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility" and "IIS 6 WMI Compatibility" are not installed.

Open "Server Manager" and install the 2 Web Server (IIS) roles:

  • IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility

  • IIS 6 WMI Compatibility

Try installing the SD package "CA UPM manual Download Function" again on the Domain Manager.
