TPX - Session Management

Issue/Introduction

I defined a new application in the ACT with a startup ACL. When I start the session the ACL is not invoked.

I tried to define the startup ACL also on profile and session level with same result. Other sessions with startup ACLs work fine.

There are no messages in the TPXlog even if I code a MSG verb in the ACL.

Resolution

Please review following parameter in the ACT for the application:

Issues CLSDST PASS: Y/N
Start ACL prior to CLSDST PASS: Y/N

From our experience when defining a new application a lot of customers copy a new ACT entry from an entry for TSO.

An ACT entry for TSO normally has

Issues CLSDST PASS: Y
Start ACL prior to CLSDST PASS: N

But if your newly defined application does no CLSDST PASS, e.g like CICS, the ACL will never start because it waits for the CLSDST PASS to happen.

Issues CLSDST PASS: N will resolve the problem.
