DLP BO - Business Objects report returns "illegal access to the viewer please use a valid url" message

Issue/Introduction

Description:

When running Business Objects reports from the CA DLP iConsole with Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 8 browser, the user may be presented with a message:

Illegal access to the viewer please use a valid url.

This is caused by the "enhanced security configuration" in the IE 8 browser.

Solution:

To resolve this issue,

In windows Server 2003;

Go to Control panel -> Add or remote programs -> Click on Add/Remove windows components and uncheck the component called "Internet Explorer Enhanced security configuration"

In windows server 2008;

Go to server manager -> under security information click on "Configure IE ESC" -> Select off for both Administrators and users -> Click on Ok. Then clear the browser cache and try running report.

On Windows 7 machines;

Add both the iConsole and BOXI web urls into trusted sites.
