How to manually uninstall an IIS Webagent?

Issue/Introduction

How to manually uninstall IIS Web Agent on Windows if the uninstall program fails?

Environment

Release: 12.8.x
Component: CA Siteminder Webagent (IIS Webserver)

Cause

Automatic uninstall of IIS web agent fails or uninstall script is missing.

Resolution

  1. Remove web agent folder from the install location.

  2. Remove the ISAPI Filters, Handlers and modules referencing the web agent
    1. Module - CASiteMinderWebagentModule
    2. ISAPI Filter - SiteMinder Agent
    3. Handler - handler-wa

  3. Type "regedit" in Run.

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Netegrity
    Delete "Siteminder Web Agent" if present.

  4. Delete Zero G Registry present in C:\Program Files\CA\webagent\win64\install_config_info\ca-wa-uninstall\.com.zerog.registry.xml

  5. Restart the machine.

We can check why the uninstaller is failing on your machine.

  1. Run the debug mode of the uninstaller: When you start the uninstaller press the CTRL key and keep it down to open a command window that will contains debug information of the uninstaller

    (NOTE: Add C:\Program Files\CA\webagent\win64\install_config_info\lib to the path)

  2. Sent us the output from the uninstall. Its located in

    C:\Program Files\CA\webagent\win64\install_config_info\ca-wa-uninstall
