Several applications will fail to install after eTPKI versions less than 4.1 are loaded by CA SCM r12.x. Crystal Reports 2011 installation fails with an "Invalid License" message and installation errors are also seen in Adobe Reader 10, Microsoft Outlook, BOXI/CABI Business Objects, and Dameware.
cryptocme2.dll is a third-party dll which is used for FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) compliance by many different applications. CA SCM r12.x ships with an eTPKI FIPS compliance package containing a version of cryptocme2.dll which is not compatible with these and possibly other applications.
CA SCM will be shipping with a later version of eTPKI in the 12.5 release, but until then there is an easy workaround to resolve the cryptocme2.dll version conflict.
CA SCM can use versions of cryptocme2.dll provided by other vendors without error. To use an alternate cryptocme2.dll:
make a backup copy of (or rename) cryptocme2.dll in these folders:
Copy cryptocme2.dll from:
C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework
4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86
Paste cryptocme2.dll into these CA SCM folders:
