In Service Desk Manager r12.6 CA SDM, the pdm_ldap_test and pdm_ldap_import
utilities are failing and produces no output in the active session. However, the following message is displayed in the stdlog.

example of command used: pdm_ldap_sync -l "userid = ?" -c "userid = 'mmiller'"

ldap_agent_nxd 392 FATAL String.c 515 * STRING ERROR: String too big 1056724


This problem can be resolved by de-installing LDAP_ENABLE_GROUPS from Service Desk Administration <options> and recycling

The problem may happen if the user has so many groups, that the total string is bigger than what Service Desk can process (larger than 1 MB).

NOTE: This is recommended if you will not be associating contact access types based on LDAP group membership.
