Issue/Introduction

Release 1.12 of z/OS made the usage of the XTIOT optional with the introduction of the NON_VSAM_XTIOT parameter.

Is there a recommendation for IDMS?

IDMS - all supported releases

Resolution

Yes.

Most sites would not need the XTIOT, however some do have CVs with enough DDNAMES that it can be necessary.

In any case, to be consistent with the way IDMS worked prior to z/OS 1.12, the NON_VSAM_XTIOT parameter should be set to YES.
