Description:
When I click on the Role Capacity portlet under Resource Planning > Capacity I can see a list of roles some with data and some without. When I use the Build Power Filter feature to refine this list I get the message "There are no items to display" even though the roles were listed prior to the Power Filter being applied.
Steps to Reproduce:
Expected Result: See the list of roles selected in the Power Filter
Actual Result: Get the message "There are no items to display"
Solution:
Using the 'Primary Role' attribute on the 'Role Capacity' portlet is not applicable.
There are 2 fields on the 'Resource' Object
Primary Role
Parent Role
Because the 'Resource' Object can hold 2 different types of resource records -- either a named Resource or a Role, the structure of the table is constant, however, some of the fields are specifically used for Resources and some of the fields are specifically used for Roles.
Primary Role > This field is only used with named Resources Parent Role > This field is only used with Roles.
If you go into a Resource Record - you will only be able to add data to the 'Primary Role' field ; you will not be able to add data to the 'Parent Role' field, because a 'Resource' is NOT a 'Role'
If you go into a Role Record - you will only be able to add data to the 'Parent Role' field ; you will not be able to add data to the 'Primary Role' field, because a 'Role' cannot have a 'Role'
The use of the 'Primary Role' field on a Portlet that is used for showing 'Role' data is NOT going to generate any results because 'Roles' cannot have a 'Primary Role' assigned.
