In Solaris 10, the CA Workload Automation system agent does not complete the jobs. Jobs are aborted with signal 9.
In some newer Solaris 10 or 11 installations RBAC is enabled during install. RBAC is Role Base Access Control security system which further hardens the OS. The RBAC may not allow certain process to run as root and execute certain commands or scripts. It can also prevent the CA WA System agent from spawning off processes to execute jobs.
If the RBAC has been enabled, then the UNIX administrator must allow in the CA WA System agent to run unhindered.
Note: By allowing agent in RBAC policies may not be sufficient. The agent may execute command and scripts which may also need to be allowed by RBAC. If the RBAC is not needed, then is should be disabled. This will allow the agent to run and complete jobs much more smoothly.
