Issue/Introduction

Description:

When trying to access the Compress for IMS ISPF Interface, option 6 from the 'CA Database Management Solutions 15.0 for IMS' main menu, the following messages are issued:

USER.CONTROL.FILE DATASET NOT FOUND
USER.GENLIB DATASET NOT FOUND
USER.FDTLIB DATASET NOT FOUND
***

No other information is provided and the user remains on this menu.

Solution:

These 'not found' messages imply that the Compress for IMS customization has not been completed. In particular the CIMTPARM Parmlib member, SHRISPF, has not been updated.

Modify member SHRISPF in the CIMTPARM library as follows:

  • Change the CONTROL variable to reflect the actual data set name of the Interactive Dialog control file.
  • Change the FDTLIB variable to reflect the actual data set name of the FDTLIB you allocated.
  • Change the GENLIB variable to reflect the actual data set name of the GENLIB you allocated.
  • Change the SYSOUT variable to specify the default SYSOUT class used by the interactive dialog.

The customization steps to configure Compress for IMS are documented in Chapter 6 of the Installation Guide, CA Compress Data Compression for IMS Customization.
