Issue/Introduction

Description:

The checkin/checkout file data are NOT encrypted, the transaction packet message header is encrypted.

Solution:

CA SCM uses CA ETPKI libraries to achieve FIPS 140-2 encryption. All login credentials are encrypted using eTPKI. However, checkin / checkout files are transmitted using PEC messages (Please refer to CA SCM admin guide chapter 3 for explanation of PEC). Only the message header is encrypted by PEC using built-in encryption algorithms similar to DES.
