Issue/Introduction

Description:

Running CA Business Intelligence Web Intelligence (WEBI) reports provide only a limited/partial result set.

The WEBI result set window shows a 'Partial Results' message.

Solution:

The cause of the 'Partial Results' message is a restriction on how many records are returned when executing a WEBI report.

There are a couple of places where the restriction could be enabled:

A. Within the report definition

From within the WEBI report, in the Properties tab of the Query Panel, there are the following options:

Maximum Rows Retrieved
Maximum Retrieval Time

Ensure that there are no restrictions defined that could effect the report result set returned.

B. Within the CA Service Desk Universe parameters

  1. From the Business Objects (BOXI) Designer application on the BOXI server (START -> PROGRAMS -> BUSINESSOBJECTS XI 3.1 -> BUSINESS OBJECTS ENTERPRISE -> ENTERPRISE), import the CA Service Desk Universe

  2. Click on FILE -> PARAMETERS and select the CONTROLS tab

  3. Ensure that there any restrictions defined are not interfering with the report result set.

  4. Save changes and export CA Service Desk Universe (FILE -> EXPORT)
