Issue/Introduction

 When using the Gen Workstation Toolset or one of the Client/Server Encyclopedias to generate COBOL code for remote installation on the z/OS platform, the path to the model directory should not exceed 51 characters.

This 51 character limit includes the filename and its 3 character extension. Exceeding this limit will cause the Split step of the IT installation job to hang indefinitely.

 

 

Resolution

Move the model to a folder with a shorter path.
