Issue/Introduction

Spectrum Service Performance Manager (SPM) test times out when running HTTPS test on a SystemEDGE host models

SystemEDGE is integrated with the Service Availability agent to perform HTTPS tests. By default when we configure a HTTPS test with the SystemEDGE box as the test host the test times out. This is the expected behavior.

The solution deals with the configuration that needs to be enabled on the SystemEDGE host in order to successfully run the HTTPS test with source as the SystemEDGE box from Spectrum.

Environment

Release: Any
Component: SPCAPP

Resolution

To configure the SystemEDGE host follow these steps:

  1. Open the svcrsp.cf on the SystemEDGE host. svcrsp.cf is the configuration file of the Service Availability agent.

  2. The svcrsp.cf file will be located in <SystemEDGE_Install_Folder>\data\port161\plugins\svcrsp\ folder of the SystemEDGE host.

  3. Uncomment the "allow_untrusted_ssl_certificates" parameter in svcrsp.cf (SystemEDGE agent side).By uncommenting you are instructing the Service Availability agent to allow untrusted SSL certificates for URLs.

  4. Recycle the SystemEDGE agent and check the behavior of the HTTPS test.
