Description:
When attempting to apply maintenance for CA Common Services v12.0, v14.0 or r14.1, customers have been reporting receiving messages such as:
GIM54502E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR CAW0SCST BECAUSE THERE IS NO DD STATEMENT IN THE JCL AND NO DDDEF ENTRY IN TARGET ZONE CAIT.
This can occur for DDNAMES CAW0CST, CCCSXML, and CCCSSCST.
Accompanying this may be additional messages relating to the specific element and PTF being installed:
GIM28307E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR CAW0SCST, WHICH IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PROCESS ELEMENT xxxxxxx IN SYSMOD yyyyyyy.
Solution:
For our customers applying maintenance to their CCS r12 environment, PTFs RO44309 and RO45206 have been PE'd. The corrective PTF is RO46458. This corrective fix includes an IFREQ statement for CAIRIM r12.0 PTF RO46454. This CAIRIM PTF includes HOLDDATA providing you with instructions to allocate the necessary data sets and define the respective DDDEFs to the SMP/E CSI.
For our customers applying maintenance to their CCS r14.0 environment, the error can occur when attempting to apply PTFs RO44289, RO44309, RO44367, RO44455, or RO45206. Each of the above PTFs include the SMP/E IFREQ statement for CAIRIM PTF RO44235. This CAIRIM PTF RO44235 must be applied and the actions defined in the HOLDDATA must be completed before any of the above mentioned PTFS can be applied successfully. The HOLDDATA provides the instructions necessary to allocate additional SMP/E target and DLIB datasets, along with their corresponding DDDEFs. These new datasets are required for housing CCS MSM SCS XML that will be provided in future PTFs.
For our customers applying maintenance to their CCS r14.1 environment, similar errors can occur when attempting to apply PTFs RO47516, RO47625, RO47666, or RO47728.
