Issue/Introduction

Accessing the CSF after applying maintenance gets "Error code 8 attempting to open CSF view table ESPCSFB".

Resolution

When entering CSF for the first time or delete ESPCSFB member later:

*** Creating ESPCSFB profile
(there will be a display showing where the data is copied from)
*** Formatting of view table ESPCSFB is complete

The changed CYBESCSI will use the existing ESPCSF or ESPCSFA from the userid.ISPFPROF library, and create new member ESPCSFB in the same library. It will reuse the settings in ESPCSF or ESPCSFA and create ESPCSFB with two more fields: FullName and Applgen.

If CYBESCSI has been customized, you should carry the changes on top of the new CYBESCSI.

Note:

• For the customization of CYBESCSI that set different default in ESPCSF or ESPCSFA, the new CYBESCSI will not change the settings in the existing ESPCSF or ESPCSFA.
  
  
• The customization that should be carried to the new CYBESCSI, will ONLY affect new users who don't have ESPCSF nor ESPCSFA. If anything goes wrong, as a workaround, new users can copy the ESPCSFA or ESPCSFB from the existing users.

CYBESCSI resides in prefix.CD7YCLS0

If CYBESCSI is incorrectly concatenated or stored in wrong libraries then users cannot access the CSF,  and the following errors will be issued:

** Starting to format view table ESPCSFA
*** Formatting of view table ESPCSFA is complete
Error code 8 attempting to open CSF view table ESPCSFB

Additional Information

How CYBESCSI works:

1. Check if ESPCSFB is available.
   if yes then issue *** ESPCSFB profile already exists*** message and finish with RC = 8
   if not then continue

2. Create an empty, enhanced ESPCSFB table

3. Check if ESPCSFA is available.
   if yesthen issue *** Copying ESPCSFA views.*** message and copy the content of ESPCSFA into enhanced ESPCSFB
   if not then continue

4. Check if ESPCSF is available (structure of very old element)
   if yes then copy the content of ESPCSF into enhanced ESPCSFB
   if not then create default view #1 in ESPCSFB since no ESPCSF/ESPCSFA is available.
   
   

While ESPCSFB is being created and formatted, similar sequence of these messages are issued by CYBESCSI upon the first entry into CSF
*** Creating ESPCSFB profile.
*** Copying ESPCSFA views.
*** Formatting of view table ESPCSFB is complete.
