CA WA ESP RERUNM (RM) CSF line command gets error "'ESP1061E Application Manager subsystem request ended with return code 8"

Issue/Introduction

Trying to rerun jobs from the Consolidated Status Facility (CSF) using line command RM, and gets the following errors:

ESP1061E Application Manager subsystem request ended with return code 8

Cause

"ESP1061E Application Manager subsystem request ended with return code 8":  return code 8 means that the RERUNM (RM) function encountered an already completed application. 

 

Resolution

The solution is to use option FORCE on the RERUNM operation.  This is done by setting option "Force if complete" to Y on the Rerun jobs panel (panelid CYBESSRRM). 

The FORCE option forces a rerun of a subset or all of the jobs in an application, if the application is already complete. By default, CA WA ESP Edition issues an error message if you try to rerun a completed application.
