Description:
Installing all packages in the Common Services v14.0 or r14.1 LEGACY pax file - ESD ONLY package with CA MSM fails in the apply with the following messages:
GIM23901E ** LINK-EDIT PROCESSING FOR SYSMOD CAF3E00 FAILED FOR MODULE CA$DPDSA IN LMOD CA$DPDSA IN THE CCCSLINK LIBRARY. THE RETURN CODE (08) EXCEEDED THE ALLOWABLE VALUE. IEW2457E 9208 SYMBOL IDMS UNRESOLVED. NO CALL LIBRARY SPECIFIED. IEW2650I 5102 MODULE ENTRY NOT PROVIDED. ENTRY DEFAULTS TO SECTION CA$DPFSA. IEW2651W 511C ESD AMODE 24 CONFLICTS WITH USER-SPECIFIED AMODE 31 FOR ENTRY POINT CA$DPFSA.
The failure can occur if Easytrieve is installed into the same target and distribution zones as Common Services v14.0 or r14.1. There is a mismatch between the target zone OPTIONS ENTRY NAME for Easytrieve, EZTOPTS and that of Common Services, CAIOPT. The EZTOPTS entry does not specify NCAL for the LKED utility as opposed to CAIOPT which does.
Solution:
Manually update the TARGET ZONE utility entry to point to the Common Services OPTIONS entry CAIOPT and rerun the apply.
The Common Services and Easytrieve development teams are currently in the process of correcting this mismatch by changing the Easytrieve XML to match what is delivered in the SAMPJCL as well as the XML delivered with Common Services v14.0 and r14.1.
