Issue/Introduction

 After applying fixes to Teleview, the following error message is displayed during startup but logons appear OK.

 	CAG6A24 - TELEVIEW: EZASMI API INITAPI FAILED RC= -0000001 ERRNO= 0000156

 

 

 

Resolution

This is most likely related to the enhancement for IPv6 delivered with Teleview fix QO90868. Ensure that an OMVS Segment is defined.

Specific ERRNO information can be obtained from IBM's z/OS Communications Server IP CICS Sockets Guide, Sockets return codes (ERRNOs).

Error number: 156

Message name : EMVSINITIAL

Socket type: All

Error description: Process initialization error. This indicates a z/OS UNIX process initialization failure. This is usually an indication that a proper OMVS RACF segment is not defined for the user ID associated with this application. The RACF OMVS segment may not be defined or may contain errors such as an improper HOME() directory specification.

Programmer's response: Attempt to initialize again. After ensuring that an OMVS Segment is defined, if the errno is still returned, call your MVS" system programmer to have IBM service contacted.
