How to easily determine release and maintenance level of SOLVE:CPT in CICS

Issue/Introduction

Especially after SOLVE:CPT received maintenance, it is productive to quickly confirm what release and service pack of SOLVE:CPT is running in CICS.

 

Environment

OS:  z/OS.

SCPT release:  6.1.

Cause

Resolution

Please go into the CICS region, and look for the T09LOAD library.  Browse module T09SP in that library.  One should see something like:

. ......T09SP .......
.....................
..5695PMB01 .........
.d ..569623400 .....
............ .......
FMID C2K6100 SP2

 

In this example, the bottom line shows the FMID C2K6100 (for release 6.1) and service pack level, in this case SP2.

Note:  T09LOAD library is in the DFHRPL concatenation.

Additional Information

Please be aware that the latest Service Pack is SP3 which was created in 2006, so there are many PTFS beyond that.  There is no easy way to determine

the complete active maintenance level, but the MSGUSER does show the eyecatchers for a few key functions--for example:

The C610xxxx value is the eyecatcher in the module.
