Issue/Introduction

How do I configure the Rally Excel 2.4.4 add-in to work with SSO (Single Sign On)?

Resolution

The first step will be to get your SSO URL from your subscription administrator.  This may also be published internally for your company in a wiki or Intranet.

In order to connect to Rally using SSO, you must make a slight modification to the above URL by adding &RelayState=noRedirect.

This resulting URL is then used in the URL field in your Excel add-in login window.

Additional Information

 

• Use of SSO in the Excel add-in is not supported for On-Premises users.
• If your Subscription Administrator or IT team has further modified the SSO URL and appended additional actions, for example, OnFail=https://<CompanyName.com>/, this will need to be removed from the SSO URL before adding the &TargetResource=https://rally1.rallydev.com/slm/j_sso_security_check?noRedirect=true portion of the URL.
