 How is SMTP email setup/configured for CEM?

Resolution

Policy Statement actions are applied to an event when the event matches the condition specified in the policy statement. Examples of actions are: Create a WTO Policy Action, and Create an Email Policy Action. The Email action specifies that an email message is sent to one or more recipients named in an ESM Monitor, PDS Monitor, or z/OS Monitor policy statements. 

SMTP email can be setup using CEM by configuring the mail server in the Settings 'Alert Settings' tab under 'LPAR Selection'. You must have an active SMTP server that the mainframe can access.
