Issue/Introduction

Having a Linux server with 2 Apache Web Servers running on it, Apache 2.2 and Apache 2.4.

Could both of them be protected with 2 different SiteMinder Web Agent releases?

Environment

R12.52 or R12.8 ANY Apache Web Agent

Any OS

Resolution

Yes, with two different Apache web servers in the same box, it's possible to protect them with 2 different Web Agents from different releases.

Both Apache Web Servers need to listen on different FQDN/IP or ports.

To have both Apache servers in the same box protected, ensure that:

  • Each Apache server is installed and executed with by a different user;
  • Install a Web Agent for each Apache on different paths;
  • After the Web Agent registration, ensure that the server path in the SmHost file ServerPath parameter is pointing to the correctly designated Apache Web Server (1).
