Issue/Introduction

Question:

We have a Linux server with two Apache web servers running on it, Apache 2.2 and Apache 2.4. Could we protect them with two different SiteMinder Web Agent releases?

Answer:

Yes, you can run two different Apache web servers in the same box, and have them protected with two different Web Agents from different releases, as long as both Apache web servers are listening to different FQDN/IP or ports. In order to have both Apache servers in the same box protected, you will need to ensure that:
- each Apache server is installed and executed with a different user.
- you install a Web Agent for each Apache on different paths.
- after Web Agent registration ensure that the server path in the SmHost file ServerPath parameter is pointing to the correct designated Apache web server.
