Installer stops at this error: "An error Occurred: java.io.EOFException: Unexpected end of ZLIB input stream Error..." when upgrading to 4.3 SP1

Issue/Introduction

You are trying to upgrade Process Automation from 4.2 SP1 to 4.3 SP1 but the installer stops with the below error:

 An error Occurred: java.io.EOFException: Unexpected end of ZLIB input stream

 Error Log: C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\Install4Error3868170969606122553.log

Environment

Release: 4.3

Cause

This error can be seen due to various reasons however following has been identified as the major reason:

Process Automation media being used for the install is either incomplete or got corrupted during extract.

Resolution

1. Download the Process Automation media again from the support site
2. Copy it to the PAM server locally
3. Run the installer.

Additional Information

• Make sure the user performing the install is added to local administrators group.
• If possible, stop the anti-virus service until the install is complete.
