COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS Common Services Earl

Issue/Introduction

I down loaded the Common Components and Services (CCS) 15.0 BASE files and completed the install. I do not have any Earl modules. Where would I find them?

Cause

The older "legacy" components are delivered on a separate paxfile for SMP/E (non-zOSMF) installation

Resolution

If you need the CA-Earl modules, you would need to install the CA-Earl Common Service which is included within the Common Services LEGACY package. This package can be obtained at the same location where you downloaded the BASE package. You will see the LEGACY package listed as follows:

CCS 15.0 LEGACY
E11802AW011.pax.Z(7.01 MB)

If you are installing using Pax-Enhanced ESD Files (ie. using SAMPJCL) you would use the same SAMPJCL data set used for the BASE install. You will need to allocate the necessary target and distribution libraries and define the necessary DDDEFS to the same CSI in which you installed the BASE. See SAMPJCL members CCS00ALL and CCS10CSI.

Refer to the Common Components and Services for z/OS documentation and the section "Prepare for Installation".  The sub-section Review the Pax Files will identify the various component FMIDs and the package in which each component is delivered.
