Hostname and IP Address change in NFA

Issue/Introduction

Are there any steps that need to be performed after hostname or IP Address change in NFA.

Resolution

A host name change should not impact NFA for the most part, as NFA uses the IP address to specify the Harvester connections.

The only place where you may have to updated the host name after the change is in NetOps Portal/NPC, if you added NFA as a Data Source using the hostname instead of IP address.

If so, just go to Admin->Data Sources and Edit the Data Source to update the name.  Do Not Delete the data source.

 

 If you are changing IP addresses of the NFA servers, then you would have to go to Manage Monitoring->Harvesters (on the NetOps Portal) and edit the IP addresses of each Harvester.
