Can I run TPX as a generic resource with affinity turned on as well?
The affinity feature allows you to have a particular TPX take control of a user's sessions even if the user signs on from a terminal that is controlled by a different system. You can set up the affinity feature through an online administration session or with the signon and signoff user exit.
You can use the affinity feature to balance the terminal traffic load across several CPUs, pass terminals to a system in the domain that owns them, or pass users to the system that is closest to the applications they use most. If TPX is operating as a generic resource, this setting will override any selection made by VTAM and Workload Manager.

No. The affinity feature of TPX should not be used when TPX is defined as a generic resource.
Turning on affinity when TPX is defined as a generic resource could cause a conflict between the TPX option and IBM Workload Manager for z/OS so we recommend affinity be disabled in a GR setup.
