Issue/Introduction

Why does PDSMAN read all libraries in LINKLST?

When we checked SMF type 80, we found that PDSMAN read all libraries in LINKLST. Is there a way not to read libraries in LNKLST by PDSMAN?

Environment

Release: PDSMAN PDS Library Management 7.7

Resolution

By default, PDSMAN monitors LLA. This is done by the PDSMLMON subtask.
There will be at least one read of each directory in LLA during PDSMAN startup to establish the initial state of data sets in LLA.

After that, reads are only needed if LLA content changes or other PDSMAN functions need to read directories.

If site does not want LLA monitoring, it can be disabled: specify NOLMON startup parameter.

Using NOLMON means:

- EZYEDIT's LLALIST keyword can not work
- $LLA or $LLASYNC rules can not work
