Issue/Introduction

This document outlines the procedures for validating secret passwords for Identity Manager components to ensure successful configuration and upgrades.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Resolution

1. Testing the Connector Server Password

Use one of the following methods to verify the Connector Server password:

Option A: Browser Verification

  1. Navigate to the following URL in your web browser: http://[ConnectorServerHost]:20080/main or https://[ConnectorServerHost]:20443/main.
  2. Provide the credentials when prompted.



Option B: Connector Xpress Verification

  1. Launch Connector Xpress from the Start Menu on the server where it is installed.


  2. Add the desired connector.


  3. Once added, select the connector and provide the password when prompted.



2. Testing Provisioning Server and Directory Secret Passwords

  1. Connect to an LDAP browser (e.g., JXplorer).


  2. Use the appropriate port for the specific DSA:
    • Provisioning Directory DSA (IMPD-Main): 20394
    • Provisioning Directory DSA (IMPD-Co): 20396
    • Provisioning Directory DSA (IMPD-Inc): 20398
    • Provisioning Directory DSA (IMPD-Notify): 20404
    • Provisioning Server router: 20391
  3. Ensure the User DN is formatted as follows: eTDSAContainerName=DSAs,eTNamespaceName=CommonObjects,dc=etadb
