What is the "CA Gen Communication Base Manager".

Issue/Introduction

After listing products that are applied to our system, CA Gen Communication Base Manager was in the list.
We would like to know what it does.

Environment

Gen Construction via Toolset, CSE and Gen Studio.

Resolution

The "CA Gen Communication Base Manager" (FEATURE line 2G35 in the ca.olf license file) is not actually a feature that can be selected for use i.e. it is a feature that is automatically added when certain generation features are selected to be licensed.

The generation features that require "CA Gen Communication Base Manager" are the 3 Gen web client type applications i.e.

Toolset and CSE generation:
1. Web Generation for Java i.e. generation options OS=JVM, Language=JAVA, TP Monitor=INTERNET
2. Web Generation for C# i.e. generation options OS=CLR, Language=C#, TP Monitor=ASP.NET

Gen Studio:
1. Web View generation i.e. generation options OS=JVM, Language=JAVA, TP Monitor=Web View

NOTE: If the 2G35 license is not present in the ca.olf file when one of the above generations is executed then the Windows Event Viewer will show this license warning message under Windows Logs > Application:
'CA Licensing -2G35 CA Gen Communication Base Manager - Component not licensed. Please contact your account representative to obtain a new license....'
