Spectrum OnlineBackup Hung

Issue/Introduction

When running an online backup it hangs yet alarms and events are coming through. Newly created models may show no hostname or they will not show a last_successful_poll.  You will see this by the status of the online backup button under the VNM model > Online Database Backup.

Release: All Supported Releases
Component: SPCCSS - SpectroSERVER Core

Cause

Process of OnlineBackup hangs.

Resolution

1. Delete the temp directory for the backup from $SPECROOT/SS-DB-Backup directory.  It will have tmpdir in the name. For example:  db_20210422_0800.tmpdir
   
2. Search in OneClick Locater for the OnLineBackup model using a custom search for "ModelType Name" Equal To "OnLineBackup"
   
3. Go to the Attributes tab
4. Change the following:
   1. BackupNow to "No" 
   2. BackupStatus to "Ready" 
   3. PauseVNM to Yes 

You should now see "Begin Backup Now" and "Ready" under the VNM model > Online Database Backup. This should allow you to run an OnlineBackup. If it hangs again please open a support ticket.
