How to monitor HP Integrated Lights Out (iLO interfaces) in Spectrum

Issue/Introduction

We have about 4500 servers with iLO interfaces that are currently monitored with SysEdge version 5.9 agents. However, Spectrum does not model these interfaces. They are not seen in the Interfaces tab of the device model. We need Spectrum to poll the iLO interface via ICMP and alert if it does not respond.

Cause

Spectrum uses the information in the interfaces mib to model the interfaces associated with a device. There are no entries in the interfaces table on the device for these iLO interfaces. 

Resolution

These interfaces are assigned unique ip addresses. Model these as Pingable models in the Spectrum database.


You can use the 'Model By Type' feature to create the Pingable Models
