Why should we use the CEEOPTS Language Environment parameters supplied with XCOM instead of that used for the system? Why are the parameters all commented in member CEEOPTS in the CBXGPARM library?
XCOM™ Data Transport® for z/OS
The CEEOPTS Language Environment parameters and values supplied with XCOM are set specifically for XCOM's architecture. Keep in mind that the LE runtime parameters provide the ability to tune the characteristics of the Language Environment that XCOM created and uses. That includes storage allocation, error handling, LE tracing, reporting options, and others. The settings provided are good for most environments.
XCOM creates an LE environment for all TCPIP, SSL, and database functions. If your transfers use any of these, an LE environment will be created and at the end of every transfer, that LE environment is ended. This should free all of the LE storage that was obtained.
You can override the CEEOPTS for your XCOM should you need to by uncommenting the parameter and changing the value of the parameter in member CEEOPTS found in your CBXGPARM library.
See the XCOM™ Data Transport® for z/OS online documentation for more information on the Configure the CEEOPTS Language Environment Parameters.
