Issue/Introduction

The CDM probe creates Items for filesystems of type MVFS in the CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM table in the CA_UIM Database with the string "\\view"

in the name field. This causes a lot of CIs published by the UIM connector into SOI with the name "\\view" instead of a correct filesystem name.

Environment

SOI 4.0 CUM1UIM version: 8.31CDM probe 5.71 for some servers and 5.4 for remaining

Cause

The CDM probe does not support filesystem type MVFS and therefore does not update proper values for the Item properties in UIM.

Resolution

The CDM probe can be configured to ignore filesystems of type MVFS. You can use the ‘Ignore Filesystem’ field in Setup tab to ignore the MVFS file system to monitor.
