Issue/Introduction

What information is contained in the Derby folder under the AdminUI installation path?

Resolution

This is information about the IAM security permissions (login to AdminUI, create, read and delete object...etc.).

The AdminUI runs on the IAM framework.

When updating some object in AdminUI, the IAM reads this permissions in derby at first.

If the administrator who updates some objects is granted permission for this task, they can update some objects in the Policy Store.

And, the size of the dat files under derby folder will increase, or new dat files will be created.

  1. ADMINUI_INSTALL\server\default\data\derby\siteminder\taskpersistence:

    Its folder contained in security policy to create, delete, read...etc. objects, and info of submitted tasks in AdminUI.

A work around to clean up submitted tasks, run the cleanup submitted task in AdminUI as below.

  1. Login to the Siteminder Administrative UI as the Siteminder Administrator;
  2. Go to the Cleanup Submitted Tasks UI under Administration->Admin UI;
  3. Select "Execute now" and select "Next";
  4. Select the "Minimum Age". e.g. 30 Minutes;
  5. Select "Finish".
