Issue/Introduction

Introduction:

When installing version 15.0 of CA Datacom/DB, job BDRIM01 is used to install the PC (Program Call) module DBPCCPR used for inter-application communication. For CA Datacom/AD, the job used is AXRIM01

Question:

After running BDRIM01 or AXRIM01 to install DBPCCPR, is there a way to dynamically remove it?

Answer:

If you have run the job to successfully load the PC module DBPCCPR into memory, it will only apply to CA Datacom version 15.x, and will not be used or accessed by any other version of CA Datacom, nor by any other product, so it will not need to be removed. Once loaded into memory by the CAIRIM program, there is no facility of CAIRIM to "undo" or to remove these modules from memory without possibly affecting your operating system integrity. Therefore, the only sure way to remove this DBPCCPR module is to comment out the control statements in your CAS9/CAIRIM input, and to IPL your system.

As always, please contact CA Technologies support for CA Datacom if you have further questions.
