Issue/Introduction

Question:

Is there a difference between CA Allocate and the Vantage SRM Allocation Option ?

Answer:

In the beginning, CA Allocate was sold as a component of CA Vantage.

CA Vantage and CA Allocate have been separated years ago, they are separate products today.

As a remainder, there are still clients licensed for the Vantage SRM Allocation Option, which means today that they are licensed to use CA Allocate.

CA Vantage and CA Allocate should be installed via SMP/E into their own CSI's.

Consequently, the CA Allocate PARMLIB's VKGPARMS needs to contain only the Allocate parameters described in the Allocate User's Guide,

and the VKGPARMS member in the Vantage PARMLIB needs to contain only the Vantage parameters documented in the Vantage Config guide.
