The field Cataloged in DTOC4SYS object is set to either 'Y' or 'N' while processing duplicate data sets, that's the object "Duplicate Data Sets" (DUPEDSNS). DUPEDSNS is created at the end of the DTOC scan.

The CAT field is set for those data sets because their catalog status is tested to find out on which volumes they are cataloged, and for the other data sets the value is not checked and marked with a value of  "-".
