Issue/Introduction

What is CA Common Services EVENT MANAGEMENT and am I using it?

Environment

CA COMMON SERVICES 14.1

Resolution

Event Management is used in conjunction with OPSMVS.

The  CA/OPSMVS facility to access Unix System Services with it's ADDRESS USS "USSCMD COMMAND(xx)" facility,

OPS/MVS captures console messages (send through EM on MAINFRAME out to EVENT MGMT on Windows/UNIX. They are then forwarded to a Service Desk product, to open a trouble ticket.

Clients who do not do/have all of the above have no need for EVENT MGMT.
