How to Query DNS and NTP Configuration on NSX (VCF environment)

Issue/Introduction

This article provides a procedure for administrators to verify DNS and NTP server configurations for NSX Manager nodes within a VCF environment using the command line interface.

Environment

VMware NSX 9.0

VMware NSX 9.1

Resolution

• Establish an SSH session to the NSX Manager node.
• To query DNS settings: Run the following command: get name-servers
• To query NTP settings: Run the following command: get ntp-server associations

Review the output to confirm the expected NTP server IP address and valid NTP synchronization status (indicated by an asterisk * for the current source).
