Issue/Introduction

- 8-node vSAN ESA Cluster

- Customer wants to use Raid-5 storage policy only.

- vSAN Health check has warning of  "vSAN default storage policy is optimized for cluster"

- Customer wants to clear the message

Environment

vSAN ESA 8.x

Resolution

As there are 8 nodes in the vSAN ESA cluster, the recommended policy is Raid6.

There are 3 methods to clear the messages

1. Disable "Auto-Policy Management"
- Navigate to the target cluster, select Configure > vSAN > Services, locate the Storage section, and click Edit. Toggle "Auto-Policy Management" to Disabled, click Save, and retest the check under Monitor > Skyline Health.

2. Alternatively, if dual parity is acceptable, update the default storage policy directly to RAID-6 (FTT=2) to align with ESA recommendations.

3. Silence vSAN health check
